Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met May 21.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

The meeting of the County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

Chairman Robert Elmore and Commissioner Delbert Wittenauer were present. Commissioner Vicki Koerber was absent.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Their being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by Chairman Elmore.

Others present included County Clerk Dennis Knobloch, Aaron Metzger, Kevin Koenigstein and Sheila Wetzler.

Aaron Metzger said he had been contacted regarding several dangerous trees at Eagle Cliff – Miles Cemetery. Two large trees – a white oak 36” diameter and 75’ tall, and a red oak 48” diameter and 84’ tall, need to be removed.

Bids were received and reviewed as follows:

All Type Tree Service –

Base Bid - $2,400 Alternate Bid - $6,000

Hudson Tree Service –

Base Bid - $7,200 Alternate Bid - $15,200

Schults Quality Tree Service –

Base Bid - $12,000 Alternate Bid - $13,500

Chopper Tree Service –

Base Bid - $18,000 Alternate Bid - $23,000

Motion was made by Commissioner Wittenauer, with a second by Chairman Elmore to award the tree removal bid to All Type Tree Service in the amount of $6,000. Chairman Elmore and Commissioner Wittenauer voting Aye, none Nay and Commissioner Koerber Absent. Motion carried.

Resolution 18-33

Miles Cemetery Tree Removal Award

Whereas, in the interest of public safety, the Board of Commissioners of Monroe County, IL with the support of the trustees of Eagle Cliff/Miles Cemetery desire to remove two (2) trees on cemetery property; and

Whereas, quotes were solicited for the removal of said trees on April 19, 2018.

Now Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Board of Commissioners of Monroe County, IL award the removal and disposal of two (2) trees at Miles Cemetery to All Type Tree Service of Waterloo, IL in the amount of:

Alternate Bid and prior to removal of said trees, All Type Tree Service shall provide the County a Certificate of Insurance per the quote specs naming Monroe County and the trustees of Eagle Cliff/Miles Cemetery as additionally insured.

Passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois at Waterloo, this 20th day of

April, 2018.

There being no further business to come before the Board, motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner

Wittenauer, with a second by Chairman Elmore. Chairman Elmore and Commissioner Wittenauer voting

Aye, none Nay and Commissioner Koerber Absent. Motion carried.
