David Friess’ bid for the 116th House District seat is in full swing.
Friess is slated to be on hand on Saturday for the Prairie du Rocher parade starting at 6 p.m.
He also recently took time to thank Erika Harold, Republican candidate for attorney general, for her “strong words of encouragement” to everyone who turned out for a recent Monroe County Meet the Candidates event.
Friess is set to face off against incumbent Rep. Jerry Costello (D-Smithton) in November. Throughout his campaign, he has branded himself a conservative fighter who "wants his children to inherit a state and region better than what they are today," according to his campaign website. Friess has also made the pledge of ousting Rep. Mike Madigan (D-Chicago) as House speaker a staple of his campaign.
An Air Force C-141 crew chief during Operation Desert Storm, Friess has also vowed that cleaning up Springfield would be "his last tour of duty."
