Red Bud Fire Department responded to 37 calls in 2017 - 5.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Red Bud included 27 fires - nine structure fires, five vehicle fires and 13 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $562,000 in fire loss - or about $20,815 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls.
