Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Monroe County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Monroe County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SW Illinois News.

The data shows that seven men and one woman were released in Monroe County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 40-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2011.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Bart Grissom. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013 when he was 34 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Monroe County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
