Columbia Community Unit District No. 4 Board of Education met Oct. 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Christopher Grode, Superintendent

Dr. Courtney Castelli, Assistant Superintendent

I. Call to Order/ Roll Call

President Middelkamp called the special meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. in the Parkview Elementary School library. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this meeting was held in accordance with social distancing guidelines and was live streamed via YouTube for community viewing.

II. Welcome Visitors

Teresa Fehrenz, 7th grade science teacher at CMS

None

IV. Discussion

The Board discussed the possibility of adjusting the current learning setting for students. Mr. Grode shared the Director of Public Health advises the district keep the current structure and not to add additional days or hours for any students due to an increase in cases in the county.

Greg Meyer and Tammy Hines shared the thoughts of the Return to School Committee, which also agreed with keeping the current situation for the time being.

Mr. Grode assured the Board he does not want to return to fully remote, unless advised by the health department or ordered by the government.

Motion made by Greg O'Connor, seconded by Karen Anderson to adjourn the special meeting at 6:42 p.m.
