Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met Dec. 17

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M.

The president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Aaron Johnson, Greg Conway, Paul Nehrkorn, Austin Marlow, Bill Yates, Gideon Hutchcraft. Also present were the following people: Scott Wagner, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Taylor Smith, Elaine James, Lori Waggoner.

Consent agenda - A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Conway to approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

Coronavirus/Covid 19 – Informational

Freedom of Information Request – No request.

Policy manual revisions – A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Conway to accept the policy manual revisions as presented with the updated amendment to Policy 5:330. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Tax levy – A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the Tax Levy for 2020 as presented, Resolution R2020-05. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Seniority list – A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Nehrkorn to accept the seniority list for Pinckneyville District 50 as presented for the school year 2020-2021. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Book Fee Waiver – Informational

Executive session - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Johnson to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel, student suspensions and negotiations. Time 6:08 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Marlow to come out of executive session. Time 6:16 p.m. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Paraprofessional – A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Nehrkorn to hire Laranda Ferrero as a Paraprofessional for Pinckneyville Elementary School @ $10/hr., or minimum wage, 5.5 hours a day plus retirement benefits for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Retirement Incentive for Non-Certified Staff – tabled

Employee Maternity Leave – A motion was made by Conway and Seconded by Nehrkorn to accept maternity leave for Mallory Witges beginning February 15, 2021 with an estimated return time of 12 weeks. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Employee Maternity Leave – A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Nehrkorn to accept maternity leave for Amanda Duvardo beginning March 2021 through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Marlow to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Yes Pursell, Marlow, Johnson, Conway, Yates, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried. 6:18 p.m.
