City of Red Bud Recreational Facilities Committee met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois Committee Members Absent: Alan Piel, Jeremy DeMond

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker, Ben Schwartzkopf

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin.

Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham,

Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Donjon called the meeting to order at 7:16 P.M.

Old Business

I. Swimming Pool

A. Post Season Repairs Update and Plan for 2022 Season

Eckart gave a report that was inaudible. Leave on agenda for January committee meeting.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – November 15, 2021 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve the minutes from the November 15, 2021, meeting. Carried

II. Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – No Meeting There was no December meeting.

III. YMCA Swimming Pool Agreement for 2022 Season

Poetker reported that a proposal has been sent to the YMCA corporate office but has not been approved yet. The Red Bud Site is currently without a director. The Y wants to provide group, semi-private and private swim lessons and amend the rules regarding children at the pool. The goal is to promote the pool programs to get the deficit down to around $8,000/year.

IV. Acceptance of Resignation of Matt Mollet

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the resignation of Matt Mollet from the Parks and Recreation Committee. Carried

V. Parks and Recreation Committee Member Appointments – Ryan Koudela and Kyle Herriman

Chairman Donjon noted that Ryan Koudela (Muskets) and Kyle Herriman (RBAA) are being recommended as committee appointments to help keep all the organizations more involved.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve appointments of Ryan Koudela and Kyle Herriman to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Carried

VI. Request to Reserve Pickleball Courts for 2022

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve the request for the Parks and Recreation Committee to reserve the pickleball courts for open play nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. for the year 2022. Carried

VII. UltraSite Updated Invoice (Less Cost of Bike Racks)

No action needed; informational

VIII. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Eckart reported that he is in the process of getting budget estimates for the resurfacing of the pickleball courts.
