City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Jan. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Park & Recreation Advisory Board meeting of the City of Columbia, Illinois was called to order by Chairperson Dave Bernhard at 5:15 P.M.

2. ROLL CALL & ESTABLISH QUORUM

Roll was called with the following attendance noted.

Members Present: Dave Bernhard, Sarah Clarke (arrived at 5:27 pm), Lauren Darr, Kara Lamack, Glenn Melching, Matt Klopmeyer

Members Absent: Kathi Boyer-Edwards, Chris Grode, Becky Hunt

Quorum Present.

City Staff & Officials Present: Scott Dunakey (Director of Community Development), Mary Ellen Niemietz (Alderman)

Consultant Present: Tyler Waldorf, Shockey Consulting

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Unapproved

Minutes of the Tuesday, October 26, 2021 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting were submitted for approval.

MOTION: It was moved by Member Melching and seconded by Member Lamack to approve the minutes of the Tuesday, October 26, 2021 Park & Recreation Advisory Board meeting as submitted. Upon a roll call vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.

4. PUBLIC INPUT

Chairperson Bernhard asked for public input.

No meeting attendees offered comment. Two individuals submitted comments via email, which were read into the record as follows:

Chairperson Bernhard read correspondence from Mr. Joe Sanders, attached as Exhibit 1 Mr. Dunakey read correspondence from Mr. Bill Seibel, attached as Exhibit 2

5. PARK & RECREATION PLANNING WORK SESSION

Mr. Dunakey introduced Tyler Waldorf, with Shockey Consulting, the consultant that will be working with the City on the Comprehensive Plan.

Mr. Waldorf did the presentation on the Engagement & Parks System Planning Overview and discussed with the Commission and staff, which were summarized in Exhibit 3 - Activity Responses and Exhibit 4 – Map Notes.

6. ADJOURN

With no further business to discuss, Chairperson Bernhard entertained a motion to adjourn.

MOTION: Motion to adjourn was made by Chairperson Bernhard and seconded by Member Clarke. Upon a voice vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

The meeting adjourned at 7:18 P.M.
