Tamaroa School District 5 Board met July 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

ROLL CALL: Present –Phillips, Melton, George, Bailey, Marlow

Absent- Stein, Doerflein

Visitors – Kerri Schoenbacher- AD, Cindy Opp – Jr. High Language Arts, TEA President, Erica Hicks - Principal

MOTION: by George, second by Bailey to approve Minutes of July Meeting (Open & Closed)

Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by George, second by Marlow to approve the Payment of Bills.

ROLL CALL: Phillips, yea; Melton, yea; George, yea; Bailey, yea; Marlow, yea.

MOTION: by George, second by Bailey to approve the Treasurer’s Report.

ROLL CALL: Phillips, yea; Melton, yea; George, yea; Bailey, yea; Marlow, yea.

MOTION: by Phillips, second by Marlow to enter into Closed Session at 6:07p.m. for the purpose of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees and/or matters relating to individual students. Purchase or Lease of Real Property for use of the Public Body.

Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Phillips, second by Marlow to exit Closed Session at 6:39.m. Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by George, second by Bailey to Employ Kelly Mayer for the Teacher’s Aide Position.

ROLL CALL: Phillips, yea; George, yea; Bailey, yea; Marlow, yea.

MOTION: by George, second by Marlow to Authorize the Superintendent to begin the Budget Process.

ROLL CALL: Phillips, yea; Melton, yea; George, yea; Bailey, yea; Marlow, yea.

MOTION: by Bailey, second by Phillips to approve the Resolution for the issue of $515,000 General Obligation School Bonds Series 2022A of School Dist #5, Perry Co. Illinois, for the purpose of altering, repairing, and equipping school buildings and facilities and refunding certain outstanding bonds of the District, providing for the pledge of certain revenues to the payment of principal and interest on said bonds and the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay such principal and interest if the pledged revenues are tax sufficient to make such payment and authorizing the proposal sale of said bonds to the purchaser thereof.

ROLL CALL: Phillips, yea; Melton, yea; George, yea; Bailey, yea; Marlow, yea.

The next Board of Education Meeting is set for August 16, 2022 at 6:00pm, in the Tamaroa Grade School Office.

MOTION: by George, second by Bailey to adjourn.
