This week, Rep. Paul Jacobs announced that he has received an important endorsement. The words of praise come from Rep. Dave Severin, Jacobs' colleague.
In a Facebook post on Oct. 17, Jacobs thanked Severin for his endorsement and spoke about Severin's accomplishments in return.
His Facebook post read: "The city of Marion has been lucky to have State Rep. Dave Severin serving them for the last 5 years. Dave has worked hard to meet the needs of the people of Williamson County. In the new legislative map beginning in January 2023, I will be taking over a big portion of Williamson County. It means a lot to me that Dave is willing to offer his endorsement in my race for re-election. Thank you, Rep. Severin!"
Rep. Jacobs was originally elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2020. As a Republican, he has championed conservative initiatives and served on the Tourism Committee and Higher Education Committee. He resides in Pomona, according to his profile.
Severin's endorsement isn't the only recent endorsement that Jacobs has received. He was also loudly endorsed by Rep. Patrick Windhorst and Rep. Blaine Wilhour as he tries to shore up support prior to the upcoming election.
Recently, Jacobs attended an Introduction Tour at SIU for their Aviation and Automotive department. About the experience, he said, “We (SIU) are turning out the most sought-after automotive students in the USA!” Jacobs said in his posting. “80% of our graduates have contracts in hand or are already hired by large automotive corporations. Aviation already is a leader in Pilot Instruction but cemented that distinction with a contract with United Airlines a few weeks ago to train and hire many of our aviation graduates. Please tour these wonderful education sites. Go Dawgs!”
