City of Red Bud Finance Committee met Dec. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Rodney Nevois, Ben Schwartzkopf, Alan Piel, Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker 

Committee Members Absent: 

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Jeremy DeMond, Kyle Donjon 

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin.  Assist. Pam Poetker, Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart,   Code Administrator Jeff Mueller 

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Acting Mayor Harbaugh called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

New Business 

1. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – November 21, 2022 

Recommendation made by Nevois, seconded by Rheinecker, to approve the minutes from the November 21, 2022, meeting. Motion carried. 

2. Maturing CDs and Investment Information 

None 

3. Financial Dashboard 

Report was included in the packet. Nevois covered the highlights of the report and included that the numbers to this point all look good.  

4. FY ’22 Surplus Funds Transfer 

Hanebutt inquired about the Parks request since there is a higher balance in the account. Mayor  Harbaugh commented that additional splashpad funding is still needed for the grant project.  Streets $168,000, Police $55,000, Fire Department $25,000, City Hall & Code Admin $159,855,  Planning Commission $25,000, Parks $110,166, Economic Development $50,000, for a total of  $593,021. 

Motion made by Piel, seconded by Hanebutt to approve the surplus funds transfer as provided in the  handout in the packet. Motion carried. 

5. Farm Lease – James Guebert

Motion made by Nevois, seconded by Hanebutt, to authorize the city attorney to draft an ordinance  for the farm lease with James Guebert. Motion carried.  

6. Health Insurance Renewal 

Poetker provided an overview of the health insurance renewal process that was followed. Einstein  Consulting collected quotes and recommendation based on the final renewal quotes is to transfer health insurance coverage to Aetna effective January 1, 2023.  

Motion made by Hanebutt, seconded by Schwartzkopf, to renew the health insurance with Aetna  effective January 1, 2023. Motion carried.  

7. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City  

No Comments. 

Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 P.M.
