Q2 2022 Recap: 6 parolees from Randolph County convicted of drug crimes set for release

There were six offenders convicted of drug crimes living in Randolph County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the SW Illinois News.

The data shows four men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 39. The youngest parolee was a 31-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Timothy S. Hobeck Jr. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 37 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of drug crimes were paroled during the second quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
