Illinois State Representative David Friess promoted an upcoming business development seminar in a Facebook post published on Friday.

"If you or anyone you know owns a business, I encourage you to call my district office at 618-282-7284 to register for this event!" Friess wrote. "You can find full information at the link below."

Friess is a Red Bud resident who was first elected to represent Illinois' 115th District in the State House of Representatives in 2021. His legislative experience includes serving on the Adoption & Child Welfare Committee and the Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, & IT Committee. A lifelong Illinoisian, Friess worked as an Air Force aircraft mechanic and later for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia.

In his initial Facebook post, Friess shared a link to his "Friess Frame" newsletter further promoting the seminar.

"On April 27th and 28th, I will be hosting my annual Business Development Seminar for business owners, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and administrators at Southwest Illinois College’s Red Bud Campus," he wrote. "If you, or anyone you know, owns a small business and would like to take part in this event, registration is still open! I encourage you to be there. For questions/registration, call Cathy at my district office at 618-282-7284 or email at DistrictDirector115@gmail.com."

The seminar will be held at 500 W. S. 4th St. in Red Bud from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the aforementioned days. Sessions will be held on topics such as grant/loan application processes, a private funding road map, HR hiring and retention, the impact of tourism on your business, regional economic development, enterprise zone funding, and brand maximization.

These hands-on, interactive sessions will be presented by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Small Business Development Center, Job Services, Illinois Workforce Development, Regions Bank, Southwest Illinois College, and Monroe County EDC.

"Registration is still open!" Friess wrote in a press release. "If you or someone you know runs a business, you are strongly encouraged to attend this exciting opportunity that will help maximize your business’ potential."
