Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met April 6.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
1. A special meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M. on April 6, 2023.
2. The President called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Paul Nehrkorn, Austin Marlow, Aaron Johnson and Gideon Hutchcraft. Greg Conway and Bill Yates were absent. Also present were the following people: Brian Pasero, Mark Rohlfing, Haven Hicks, Brittany McConachie and Shari Kovic.
3 Consent agenda - A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No 0. Motion carried.
4. Visitors and Committees were welcomed.
4.1 Public comment- Informational
5. Executive Session - A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Nehrkorn to go into Executive Session for the purposes of discussing: Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried. 6:01 pm.
5.1 The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93- 57 Coming out of Executive session: A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to come out of Executive session. Yes - 5, No - 0; motion carried. 6:09 pm.
6. Action Items
6.1 Resignations - A motion wad made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the resignation of Haven Hicks, effective at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year (per contract). Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No -0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Nehrkorn to accept the resignation of Marty Wettig, effective at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.
6.2 4th grade - A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Johnson to approve the reassignment of Jessica Taylor Smith to 4th grade teacher effective for the 2023-2024 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.
6.3 Elementary School Principal - A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Marlow to approve a 2023-2024 Administrative contract for Brittany McConachie as Elementary Principal as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 4 No – 0. Abstain -Nehrkorn -Motion carried.
7. Adjournment: A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Nehrkorn to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Yes - Nehrkorn, Pursell, Johnson, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes-5 No-0. Motion carried. 6:15 pm.
