Minutes of the Special Board Meeting of April 26, 2023 held at the Indian Trail Jr. High School Board Room.
President Williams called the regular meeting to order at 6:00p.m.
Roll call showed the following individuals:
PRESENT: Bollig, Frangidakis, Lange, Ruffolo, Towns, Triantafillos, Williams
ABSENT: None
A quorum was declared present.
Communications/Public Participation on Agenda & Non-Agenda Items: None
Motion #1: Move to Suspend Open Session
Motion by Mr. Towns, second by Mr. Ruffolo to move to suspend the open session meeting of April 26, 2023 at 6:01pm and to go into a Closed Session to discuss student disciplinary cases in accordance to Open Meetings Act Exception ILCS 120/2(c)(9).
ROLL CALL VOTE: AYE: Bollig, Frangidakis, Lange, Ruffolo, Towns, Triantafillos, Williams
ABSENT: None

Motion by Mr. Frangidakis, second by Mr. Towns to move to Open Session of the Board of Education meeting of April 26, 2023 at 6:39pm.

Motion #3: Ruling on Student Discipline
Based upon and after the Board of Education’s consideration of the evidence and testimony of the suspension review hearing held this evening on, April 26, 2023, I will ask for a motion and a second to find that Student #280439 committed acts of gross misconduct as described by the District's Administration, in violation of Board Policy 7:190, Student Behavior.
Based upon such gross misconduct, the student continued presence in school posed a threat to the school safety and/or disruption to other student’s learning opportunities.
The Board finds that based on evidence presented that the duration of the suspension for this child is appropriate based upon the nature of the misconduct, threat to the school safety and/or disruption to other student’s learning opportunities. Therefore, may I have a motion and a second to uphold the suspensions of this student from school for 2 days?
Motion by Ms. Bollig, second by Mr. Frangidakis to uphold the suspensions of this student from school for 2 days.

Motion by Mr. Lange, second by Mr. Ruffolo to move to suspend the open session meeting of April 26, 2023 at 6:42pm and to go into a Closed Session to discuss personnel in accordance to Open Meetings Act Exception ILCS 120/2(c)(1).
