City of Red Bud Recreational Facilities Committee met May 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel, Jeremy DeMond

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Curt Guebert

Council Members Absent: Mike Rheinecker

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin. Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Donjon called the meeting to order at 6:53 P.M.

Old Business

I. Ratz Park Renovation Project Update

Code Admin. Mueller said the main features have been selected. They are still working on ground sprays and trying to get them under 100. They are also working on the pads and restrooms.

II. Musket Facilities

A. Additional Lighting for Multipurpose Field

No action, leave on agenda

B. Building Repairs – Flooring and Window

No action, leave on agenda

III. Splash Pad Update

Addressed under Old Business I

IV. Wind Screens – Lincoln Park

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Piel, to authorize approval of the purchase of wind screens, as proposed, NTE $3,000, with the stipulation of leaving an airflow for the main basketball court. Carried

V. Pavilion Rental Fees at Ratz and Lincoln Parks

Chairman Donjon said the parks committee were discussing raising the rental of the Ratz Park pavilions #1 from $30-$40, #2-4 from $15-$20 and the Lincoln Park pavilions by $5/each, from $20-$25. Residential vs. non-resident and corporate rates were discussed.

The original reason for charging rent, was to guarantee use of a certain pavilion. No action taken.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – April 17, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the minutes from the April 17, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – Meeting May 3, 2023 Minutes are in the packet.

III. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

The meeting was adjourned at 7:02 P.M.
