Senator Terri Bryant celebrated the Illinois Soybean Association's (ISA) 60th anniversary with a message of "Congratulations!" in a June 21 Facebook post.
"Congratulations Illinois Soybean Association on 60 years," said Bryant, Illinois State Senator (R-Murphysboro), according to Facebook.
According to an AgriNews article, over the past six decades, there have been numerous achievements to celebrate. McLean County is recognized as the top soybean-producing county in the United States. In 1997, Illinois planted more than 10 million acres of soybeans and has had more years with 10 million or more acres planted than any other state. The article also noted that Illinois is the largest soybean container exporter in the country, which provides Illinois farmers "a strengthened basis and price premium for commodity, identity preserve, and non-GM soybeans," according to the June 19 article.
