State Representative David Friess has announced the winners of the 2024 Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Scholarship awards. The recipients include:
- Waterloo Lead Heads, Head Coach Wayne Gaudey
- Steeleville Trap Shooting Team, Head Coach Rodney Barker
- Trap and Archery Team from Evansville High School, Head Coach Robert Rahlfs
- Trap and Archery Team from Sparta, IL, Head Coach Clint Peck
"Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s scholarships," Rep. Friess said. "These scholarships recognize their hard work and reinforce our commitment to preserving Illinois’ rich outdoor heritage. I will continue to advocate for policies that ensure future generations can enjoy hunting, fishing, and all the joys of our natural resources."
The bipartisan Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus aims to protect and advance policies that promote hunting, fishing, trapping, and wildlife management. The caucus advocates for Illinois' outdoor recreational assets, safeguarding pursuits involving fin, fur, and feather. As an avid hunter and shooter himself, Rep. Friess supports the caucus' vision to enable outdoorsmen and women to enjoy their favorite sports.
