City of Red Bud Personnel Committee met Sept. 16.

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf, Finance Officer Liz Cowell, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman DeMond called the meeting to order at 6:24 P.M.

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – August 19, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Piel, to approve the minutes from the August 19, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. School Crossing Guard Rate of Pay

Chief Brittingham reported that he was having difficulty finding a replacement crossing guard and is suggesting an increase in the pay rate. The guards work two hours per day for the 182 days of school. The current rate of pay is $14.48/hour. Animal Control pay rate is $17.77/hour. If the hourly rate is increased to $17.77/hour or $20.00/hour the increased cost would be $2,500 or $4,000.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve increasing the school crossing guard salary to $20.00 per session. Carried

III. Training Requests for Kristy Cooper – SWIC VPC, EI, and Customer Service

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to authorize approval to send Kristy Cooper to training entitled “VPC-EI” on October 8, 2024, at SWIC in Red Bud. No registration fee is required. Carried

IV. Training Requests for Jill Landgraf – SWIC VPC, and Leadership Training

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Piel, to authorize approval to send Jill Landgraf to training entitled “VPC” on September 17, 2024, at SWIC in Red Bud . No registration fee is required. Carried
