District 115 hosts multiple Santa-themed events for the holiday season

The holiday season is a time of joy and excitement, especially for children eager to meet Santa Claus. Across District 115, numerous events have been organized to provide opportunities for families to experience the magic of Christmas.

In Monroe County, Columbia will host a Christmas parade on December 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM along Historic Main Street. The public library will welcome Santa on December 14 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Waterloo offers a "Magical Breakfast with Santa" at Gibault High School on December 8 from 9 AM to noon, as well as other neighborhood visits through December 23. Valmeyer will see a Santa parade pass through town with treats on December 6 at 6:00 PM.

Jackson County's Murphysboro has planned several events including the annual Christmas tree lighting with Santa on December 6 at 6 PM and "Cookies with Mrs. Claus" on December 7 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Other highlights include pictures with Santa at St. Francis Animal Rescue Center on December 14 and breakfast in the community park on December 21.

Randolph County's Chester hosts "Christmas On The River" at Chester Square Gazebo Park between December 6 and December 8 from 3 PM to 4 PM. Coulterville offers a holiday light display featuring Santa until December, while Prairie du Rocher invites families for pictures with Santa at Buena Vista National Bank on December 14.

In Perry County, DuQuoin will feature Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Expo Hall between December 6 and December 8 from 6 PM to nine in the evening, while Pinckneyville provides "Cookies With Santa" at the junior high school on December seventh starting at ten in the morning.

Washington County's Nashville presents several chances to see Santa, including appearances at L&M Depot and during a lighted holiday parade scheduled for early evening hours throughout the month.

These events offer diverse ways for residents across Districts like Monroe, Jackson, Randolph, Perry, and Washington Counties to engage in festive celebrations this holiday season.
