The City Council of Red Bud, Randolph County, Illinois met on Monday, January 5, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. at the Red Bud City Hall, Council Chambers.

Members Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, Ben Schwartzkopf, Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker (Remote), Bill Hanebutt, Jeremy DeMond, Rodney Nevois, Kyle Donjon, Alan Piel

Mayor Harbaugh asked for approval of the request from Council Member Rheinecker for electronic participation in the meeting. All members present consented.

IV. Approval of Financial Statements

Motion made by Council Member Nevois, seconded by Council Member Guebert to approve the Financial Statements as presented and file for audit. The vote was as follows: Schwartzkopf, aye; Guebert, aye; Rheinecker (Remote), aye; Hanebutt, aye; DeMond, aye; Nevois, aye; Donjon, aye; Piel, aye. Motion carried.

V. Approval of Estimated and Listed Bills

Authorization of approval to send John Brittingham to training entitled “2025 Southern Illinois Criminal Justice Summit” in Effingham, IL on February 25-27, 2025, NTE $580.

A. Recommendation for Electric Apprentice I Position

Motion made by Council Member Guebert, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to authorize approval to promote Byron Schlueter to the Electric Apprentice I position at the rate of $24.61/hour, with an increase to full Electric Apprentice I pay rate of $25.11 after six-month probationary period completion, effective with the January 8, 2025, pay period. Schlueter would remain eligible for any other pay increases as approved by the city council. 2. Ordinance No. 1556 – Revision to Water and Sewer Rates

3. Proposal from Knapheide – Additional Equipment - New Truck #18

Approval of additional spreader stand and tarp for the new truck #18 Motion made by Council Member Guebert, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to authorize approval of the proposal from Knapheide for the additional Spreader stand and roller tarp for truck #18, NTE $8,000.
