City of Red Bud Zoning Committee met June 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Alan Piel, Jeremy DeMond, Curt Guebert, Pat Mueller, Rodney Nevois

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Bryce Parsons, Bill Hanebutt, Kyle Donjon

Council Members Absent: None

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Piel called the meeting to order at 6:55 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting May 19, 2025

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Mueller, to approve the minutes from the May 19, 2025, meeting. Carried

II. Enterprise Zone to Include Residential Areas

Code Admin. Jeff Mueller said there are several solar fields which are being removed from the Enterprise Zone map. That will allow the communities involved to add to their Zone map. The city could include residential areas, promoting residential growth in the city. The Economic Development Committee has recommended this. Mueller would be in charge of extending the contiguous map. Committee Member Guebert said that this means that if a new subdivision is developed within the Enterprise Zone, construction materials are exempt from sales tax.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve being in support of entertaining the idea of opening new residential construction to the city’s Enterprise Zone Map. Carried

III. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Cameron Mueth, from Evergreen Lawn Service, said that he and his wife Kayla are interested in purchasing a RBBP lot for their business, but are wondering whether, with all the grant money which the city received on this project, if the lot pricing will go down. Committee Member Nevois said that Economic Development has lot pricing on their June 25th meeting agenda.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:03 P.M.
