Danielle Rickenberg, a technologist at Sparta Community Hospital, has passed the national board examination in Breast Sonography. This certification adds to the expertise within the hospital’s Imaging Department and brings the total number of certified breast sonographers on staff to two.

According to hospital officials, breast sonography is an important method for detecting abnormalities such as breast cancer, benign lesions, and issues related to dense breast tissue. The addition of another certified professional is expected to improve accuracy in detection and expand appointment availability for patients.

“Early detection saves lives, and specialized imaging plays a critical role in identifying changes in breast tissue,” said Aaron Fiene, RT(R)(C), Manager of Diagnostic Imaging at Sparta Community Hospital. “We are proud of Dani for her dedication and expertise. Her accomplishment represents another step in our commitment to believing in better care for our community.”

The Imaging Department at Sparta Community Hospital offers services including breast ultrasound, 3D mammography, CT scans, MRI, DEXA scans, nuclear medicine, and general ultrasound. These resources allow patients access to diagnostic imaging without traveling outside the local area.

Hospital representatives state that achievements like Rickenberg’s support their ongoing mission to provide improved technology and care for the community.
