City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met Aug. 18.

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Parsons called the meeting to order at 6:12 P.M.

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting July 21, 2025

Recommendation made by Committee Member Mueller, seconded by Committee Member Demond, to approve the minutes from the July 21, 2025, meeting. Carried

II. Red Bud Fire Department Request for Meat Shoot Fundraiser – September 28, 2025 – from 11AM-7PM

Recommendation made by Committee Member Piel, seconded by Committee Member Mueller, to authorize approval of the request from the Red Bud Fire Department to temporarily close a portion of Orange Street between Veterans Street and East Pine Street on September 28, 2025, from 11 AM – 7 PM, and a site inspection from the Chief of Police, for the meat shoot fundraiser. Carried

III. St. John’s Lutheran Request to Reserve Lincoln Park for Cross Country Meet – September 5, 2025

Recommendation made by Committee Member Mueller, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to authorize approval of the request from St. John’s Lutheran School to reserve Lincoln Park for the cross country meet on September 5, 2025. Carried

IV. Illinois America250 Commemoration – Resolution 25-003

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Mueller, to authorize approval to accept “RESOLUTION NO. 25-003: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RED BUD IN SUPPORT OF THE ILLINOIS AMERICA250 COMMEMORATION.” Carried
