City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Sept. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Curt Guebert, Patrick Mueller, Bryce Parsons

Committee Members Absent: Kyle Donjon

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel

Council Members Absent: Rodney Nevois

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Admin. Officer Jill Landgraf, City Clerk Joanne Cowell, Finance Officer Liz Cowell

Others Absent: Police Chief John Brittingham

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:25 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – August 18, 2025 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Mueller, to approve the minutes from the August 18, 2025, meeting. Carried

II. Departmental Activity Report

The monthly activity report was included in the packet. Please call Chief Brittingham with any questions.

III. Approval to Hire Crossing Guard

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve hiring Kathy Summer as crossing guard at $20/session, pending physical and drug screen. Carried

IV. Parking Zone – Schedule F Updates

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Parsons, to approve updating the ordinance regarding Schedule F Handicap Parking, per Superintendent Eckart’s recommendation. Carried

V. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
