Pinckneyville Community Hospital has announced the launch of new urology services at its Family Medical Center, expanding specialized healthcare options for local residents.
The hospital will collaborate with urologists from VirtuCare to provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of a variety of urological conditions. The program is designed to serve patients of all ages and covers issues such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, prostate problems, bladder control concerns, male fertility, and other related health needs.
“Urology care plays an important role in overall health, yet many patients must travel out of town for these services,” said Randall Dauby, Chief Executive Officer. “By bringing urology to the Family Medical Center, we’re making it easier for our community to receive the care they need without the added stress of long commutes.”
The urology program at Pinckneyville Community Hospital offers more than standard clinic visits. It includes in-office procedures and surgical services performed by Dr. Uwais Zaid, an experienced urologist. Available treatments include cystoscopies, vasectomies, and other advanced surgeries, allowing patients to receive comprehensive care from diagnosis through recovery at a single location.
One benefit highlighted by the hospital is reduced wait times for appointments compared to regional averages. Patients can expect quicker access to evaluation and treatment, which can lead to earlier detection of health issues and more personalized care plans.
Appointments for these new services are now available. More information can be found by calling 618-357-2131 or visiting www.pvillehosp.org.
VirtuCare and Dr. Zaid are independent contractors providing services for Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
