Sparta Community Hospital District and Moody Pharmacy have announced an agreement to explore a potential merger, which may include the hospital district purchasing Moody Pharmacy. The two organizations stated that this move is aimed at improving healthcare access, streamlining services, and supporting community wellness.

During the exploratory phase, both parties will conduct a detailed review of their services and assess community needs to determine how a collaboration could benefit patients and maintain pharmacy access in the future.

“This agreement represents a shared commitment to ensuring our community’s health and well-being for years to come,” said Joann Emge, CEO of Sparta Community Hospital. “And pharmacies play a vital role in keeping healthcare accessible in rural communities.”

Seamus Kloos, Pharm D, of Moody Pharmacy added: “By exploring this opportunity, we are focused on ensuring the long-term sustainability of pharmacy services right here at home — so patients can continue to count on trusted, local care for generations to come.”

The organizations emphasized that there will be no immediate changes to current services. Patients should expect continued care from both providers as usual. Additional updates will be provided as discussions progress.
