Sparta Community Hospital will offer a Safe Sitter class on December 22, 2025. The program is aimed at preparing students with skills necessary for babysitting and emergency situations. The class will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Broadway Plaza, Auxiliary Room A at Sparta Community Hospital.
The curriculum includes safety training, such as handling power failures and weather emergencies, as well as first aid instruction covering choking rescue and CPR. Students will also learn about child care techniques like diapering and soothing infants, along with business skills related to babysitting jobs.
Jennifer Barbour is the contact person for registration, which is required for participation. The cost of the class is $10 and lunch is included.
